Craig Donald Butler was the second of four children born on January 21, 1956 in Philadelphia, PA. He was educated in the Philadelphia School System and graduated from West Philadelphia High School in 1972. Thereafter, he joined the United States Navy, where he served his country with honor. He received an honorable discharge in 1977.
Craig’s favorite loves were singing, laughter, long distance running and most of all family. He encouraged his children to believe in themselves, excel in school and keep good company.
He was truly the glue that held the family together.
From his earliest moments, Craig made a lasting impression with each person he met. He was ‘The Life of the Party’ and brought the confetti and music with him. His presence and zest for life touched so many.
Craig’s life was tragically cut short due to gun violence on July 1, 1999.
